2014 Off My Needles #3

Jaena's Adagio Sweater
Project #3
Pattern: Adagio Men's Pullover by Lisa Kereliuk
Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Tweed in the Farmhouse Heather colorway

I just mailed this out to Jaena at college for Valentine's Day. I can't wait to hear that she received it. It turned out beautifully! Of all the sweaters I've knit, I'm proudest of this one.

2014 Off My Bookshelf #2

The First Phone Call From Heaven
By Mitch Albom
Finished January 16

Am I on an audiobook roll or what?  I listened to this book while on a plane to and from San Antonio, Texas. It was perfect timing - leaving the snowing white, -14F for sunny, 77F. I always love Mitch Albom's books and his imagination. This story gave me just what I craved... a quirky, somewhat "feel good" read. Is it heaven calling?...or is it a cruel prank? and Do supernatural events occur?

Here are a few photos of beautiful San Antonio, Texas.

2014 Off My Bookshelf #1

A Girl names Zippy
First book of 2014

A Girl Named Zippy
By Haven Kimmel

This is a delightful memoir of childhood memories while growing up in small town Indiana. Haven has a hilarious writing style, perfectly dropping into her little girl mind and perspective. I laughed constantly while listening to Haven herself read the book.

Winter Vortex Mittens - X-Country Mitten

My first project of 2014

Started January 5 - Finished January 7

This was the perfect project for the 2014 Winter Vortex - gorgeous, soft, warm mittens. They were such fun! I want to buy matching yarn and make a cowl now.

They are made from a Blue Mountain Colors Kit titled X-Country Mittens

The kit came with Mountain Colors Just One Ounce Yarn in Mountain Goat in four colorways.

Size 6 double point needles
