Batman Cap
I'm hesitant to post a picture of my latest knit. I may have a few requests from family for this one. We are a family of superheros. So for all my Batman family... if you want one, just let me know. I'd be happy to make a few more.
This one was for a friend, Sean, who happens to love Batman. I wonder what he'd do at one of our family reunions or during the Batman Christmas "Gag" gift game?!
Here are the details:
I used this pattern, Batman Hat, by Ann Donovan, but adapted it to make a cap by decreasing as you would do any other hat and by using thicker yarn knitted with size 9 needles. Add some leftover yarn, an evening of knitting, and voila, a Batman cap.
Enjoy, Sean! Merry Christmas...slightly early.

Perspective
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."
-Ecclesiastes 3:11
This is the view from my kitchen window this morning. The roses adda bright bit of color toa foggy morning - so beautiful!
What you don't see is the brown, drearyness of a late fall day after all the leaves have fallen and winter is beginning to nibble at the grass.
It's all in your perspective, isn't it?

A Hand Holding a Pen
I woke up this morning with magical lines
bouncing off the walls of my mind.
I wrote a whole poem before I opened my eyes,
yet sitting before me, a pen that
lies.
Suddenly, my brain is a silent room
stuffed with nothing but feelings
of doom.
Raindrops slip down with their own quiet sound,
and my eye twitches its thundering
pound.
The clouds’ lines are grey and the pavements are puddled.
It’s peaceful, yet painful. My
mind’s all a muddle.
I had dreams of today, a clear line in my vision.
But now it’s a fog without
recognition.
My rhymes all follow a confused little stream.
This
headache has left me unable to dream.
Can’t I just trace my hand holding a pen
and count that my writing? ...It’s
a place to begin.
